The Bass Foundation attempts to address the widespread need experienced by so many underserved residents of New Jersey. In 1992, our Founder & President, Thomas Bass, rented a truck, filled it with warm winter clothing and drove through the streets of Newark to distribute coats to the homeless. As the Foundation grew, we established relationships in communities throughout New Jersey, and through research were able to make our donation of goods more need-specific.
Today, the Bass Foundation continues today to provide goods and services with an intense focus on programming that encourages higher academic achievement, literacy, college preparedness and life skills. In addition, we have recently launched a food support program, where weekly, we deliver 80 bags which contain nourishing kid-friendly meals, drinks and healthy snacks to help kids whose families are struggling.
Our motto is "Heart-to-heart, changing lives one at a time." To that end, we have established programs that encourage children in many inner-city communities to reach higher and to recognize that greatness is within their grasp.
Our vision is to seek out need in the community at-large and address it in a way that creates a better life for our recipients.
